Introducing Boston class A detective and nosy investigator Jane Rizzoli, played by Angie Harmon, who was down and dirty trying to make a follow through with a serial killer named Charles Hoyt some time before the television series started. So before you get crazy, Hoyt was former, ex, medical student who was banned from his school because he fondled a corpse, used his vast medical knowledge in order to expertly and systematically torture and eventually kill weak and unsuspecting women. Eventually, he has captured Rizzoli by knocking her over the head with wood making her unconscious, then pins her on the floor with a number of scalpels through her hands.

And as he preps up to cut Rizzoli’s throat, her partner, Vince Korsak, shoots Hoyt and saves her life. Rizzoli then reasons that, after seeing her so vulnerable, Korsak would never have trusted her as his partner. Ever! there are new twists in the rest of the show, especially when Rizzoli and Isles discovered that a recent victim is actually Isles’s previously-unknown half brother, which resulted in her discovery that her father is quite as notorious as a criminal, by the name of Patrick Doyle.

Hoyt then returns eighteen months later through another apprentice named Lola. And after he murdered mercilessly Lola’s abusive husband two years earlier before that, Hoyt has used her handicap, having Stockholm syndrome to his own personal gain, and even used her to stalk the famed girl detective. Lola then seduces and captures Franklin Rizzoli before tying Jane up. She has plans beforehand to kidnap Jane until Hoyt can escape from prison, but still, Rizzoli manages to distract Lola long enough for Frankie to kill Lola with her own powerful revolver.
